Editing Text or Image on a Deactivated Listing on Amazon

Many sellers have encountered the problem we will discuss today. We see this situation in many suspension cases, primarily in copyright, restricted products, and TM suspensions.

Amazon asks you to change the photo or text on the listing for reactivation. They want you to remove the mention of the infringed trademark on the listing or edit the product photo so that it no longer reminds the customer of something forbidden, for example. Your appeal can even be accepted at this stage, but the unmade changes to the listing do not give the support the right to reinstate the listing.

And, it would seem, everything is simple: make changes to the listing. But it’s often not so easy because the listing is deactivated and the Edit button is unavailable. In this case, we order a callback from Amazon seller support and tell them in detail which phrase on the listing to change and how, or which photos should be removed and which should be uploaded. To do this, feel free to load a photo in the case where you are communicating with a support on the phone (it’s likely to be the first in the Case log. Or you can ask for the case number directly). After that, you need to ask the support to confirm that the changes to the listing have been made. A support will tell you that you must wait 12-24 hours for the changes to appear on the listing.

Often after you have waited the time specified by the support, the changes are still not displayed in the listing. Call the support again and ask them to confirm that they see the changes. If they don’t – repeat the procedure from the previous paragraph and scold them a little for incompetence; if they do – ask them to confirm it in writing in the case.

After that, in the appeal, we point out that the support makes the changes. To confirm your words, mention the case number where they confirmed the change. Usually, the listing will become active within a day. Sometimes it may take several attempts, but the support will understand everything sooner or later. So do not get lost in this vicious circle:)
