Hello, it’s Solver.
So everybody knows the parts of a PoA: the root cause, the corrective actions, and the preventive measures. However, from our experience, not many sellers know how to write out those parts of the appeal correctly. Here we’ll try to shed some light.
The root cause is the main part of an appeal. Here you have to find the main reason for the suspension. To find a reason for anything really, we have to ask “why?”. Writing a PoA is no different. An example:
- Why did an “inauthentic” suspension take place? – Because I was selling inauthentic products on Amazon.
- Why was I selling inauthentic products on Amazon? – Because I didn’t check whether my supplier sells authentic goods.
- Why didn’t I check that? – Because I didn’t know how to do it right.
- Why didn’t I know? – Because I didn’t read the Amazon policies and laws.
The last sentence is basically what your root cause is. Always try to get to the ROOT of the problem and ask yourself “why?” as often as it seems appropriate.
The clients usually mix up corrective actions and preventive measures and write the same steps there. In corrective actions, you should write only the actions you’ve taken to FIX the issue. For example, if you’re facing a related account suspension, it is important to mention that you have changed the credit card/addresses/etc. in the account to terminate the relation. So, what’s important here is your actions to eliminate the reason and the consequences of this exact violation.
In the preventive measures, you should state the actions you took in the future to avoid similar situations going forward. For instance, with the “not as described” type of suspension, you should mention that you will be more careful with checking the process of creating a listing’s description for it to be as accurate as possible. And while you’re at it, please, don’t be greedy for the details and tell Amazon the exact step-by-step instruction on how this control will be conducted. Believe us, this is super important in every single preventive or corrective action to share as many details as possible. Just remember to keep it to the point
Hopefully, using these simple steps, you will be able to resolve most of your suspensions by yourself. But if it still isn’t working, Solver is always open to help!
